World-renowned biotech
and industry leaders, an experienced management team, and leading-edge
scientists help champion Ventria's mission to develop breakthrough
products that enhance and save lives. Prior to joining Ventria,
its leaders amassed over 120 years of biotech experience, registered
145 U.S. and foreign patents,
and published over 600 scientific
papers.
Management Team
Scott E. Deeter, President & CEO
Scott has led the startup and development of several successful
products and businesses for Cargill and Koch Industries. Scott negotiated
and led a strategic alliance between Cargill and F. Hoffmann-La
Roche to enter the natural vitamin E and sterol intermediates market.
Prior to joining the company, Scott served as President and CEO
of CyberCrop, a venture-backed software company. He also has experience
in biotechnology, nutraceuticals, animal nutrition, and food processing.
Scott started his career in the Technology and Life Sciences Group
of Salomon Brothers. Scott has a BSc in Economics from University
of Kansas, an MBA from University of Chicago, and an MSc in Economics
from London School of Economics.
Ning Huang, Ph.D., Vice President of Research and Development
Ning has made significant contributions to the understanding of
cereal grain gene expression and related plant biotechnology processes.
Through his efforts with the scientistific team at Ventria and within
the Ventria network, Ning led the development of ExpressTec, Ventria's
integrated protein production platform. Prior to Ventria, Ning led
a research team on genome study at the International Rice Research
Institute. Ning made significant advances in molecular breeding
technology and plant genomics. He received his Ph.D. in Genetics
from The University of California, Davis, in 1990.
Greg Unruh, Vice President and General Manager
Greg has more than 10 years of experience in the agriculture industry. Prior
to joining Ventria, Greg led the expansion of John Deere Credit in the Midwest
where he led the development and implementation of innovative financial and
risk management solutions for growers, dealers, retailers and the agricultural
supply chain. Greg will lead Ventria's production expansion including operations
in Kansas. Greg received his B.S. degree from Kansas State University.
Randy Semadeni, Vice President of Finance and Business
Development
Randy has more than 15 years of experience in Finance and Business Development.
Prior to joining Ventria, Randy led the commercial launch of two business units
for Rembrandt Enterprises. Randy has also held finance leadership positions
with Murphy Farms, a division of Smithfield Foods, and Koch Industries. Randy
will lead Ventria's finance department and will utilize his business development
expertise to assist in commercialization of Ventria's product pipeline. Randy
received his B.S. degree in Accounting from McPherson College.
